Mourning Miss Molly Moo

My husband of 34 years passed away seventeen months ago. I turned to our Basset Hond Molly for comfort. Taking care of her gave me a purpose in life.Molly turned 12 about a month ago; We got her when she was six weeks old.
Last Tuesday night she became gravely ill. What no one knew she had a large tumor in her stomach-and when they found it on Xray Wednesday morning she was in extreme pain, in liver and kidney failure. The only choice was too euthanize her to end her suffering. My heart is broken and I am devastated. I hope she truly has crossed Rainbow Bridge.

My Garden Beets

Pulled six beets from the garden yesterday- then made pickled beets.

Those six beets yielded three pints.

Finally

It has taken a long time but my burgundy lillies are opening- that are much darker than shown.

Some of my iris's have opened but with the lack of sunshine they have stopped

Mercy Gale Fall 1716 Sampler
Mercy Gale was my sixth Great Grandmother.
She was born December 4,1710 to Richard Gale and Sarah Knight
In Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts.
She died in 1751 at the age of 41 years.
Imagine her stitching next to an old fireplace using that and a whale oil lamp for light.
This sampler is authentically stitched with imperfections and has been stained with coffee for aging.
The sampler is framed in a free standing black wooden frame without glass- you can add a picture hanger for wall display.
