Prim Scented Wax Bears



Introducing our Prim Aroma Bear- they are used as an air freshener!
Dipped in scented soy wax they provide scent without a flame! They are really great for bathrooms! Set them in a shallow bowl or on a small plate ( not on bare wood)- refresh the scent by heating with a blow dryer for 30-60 seconds. They are 6"tall sitting and comes with a black & tan check homespun bow.

The Fox is back again!


I did not see this fox yesterday- but while we were eating supper at 5 pm tonight here she come a nd started eating catfood. I know she must be very hungry but I am not sure how comfortable I am with her coming so close!!

A Fox At My House!!


A few months ago at night I heard a fox wailing at night. I could see it's sillouhette from my window. I worried about the stray cats that I feed. It has been a few weeks since I heard it and I thought it was gone. Tonight around 7 pm- I looked out my kitchen window around 7 pm and there was the fox eating the food I had put out for the stray cats!!

Olde Burlap Bag with Spring Flowers and Sweet Annie


This is a great Spring/Summer decorating piece!
The bag is made from fabric lined burlap and measure 10" long x 6" wide.

I made a Tutu!!

It's definitely not prim! But I had so much fun making it!

I have not crafted much today opting instead to clean oit my flower beds. I tied Molly out next to me and of course she wanted to help. Her leash was just long enough she could get in the beds since the fence is down. I am sure you can imagine how much help she was!!

This is the latest shoe pinkeep- it was hard to photograph black and get good color- the red fabric is much more muted than it appears in this picture.
The shoe has been sanded after painting to give it that well worn and scuffed look.

Lantern Lighters in Olde Prairie Sack

These Early look lantern lighters look like they were poured in an old settlers cabin long ago. Long and skinny and somewhat lumpy like they would have been years ago when they were used to light the olde lanterns. They are cinnamon in color and have been rolled in ground cinnamon. They are scented in Olde Colonial Clove. There is 7 candles per set and will come in this olde prairie sack- it is made from coffee dyed osanaburg with coffee dyed string. The date is hand stitched in primitive numbers.
Use for decoration only.

Blackwork Sampler- Sarah Ellen Jones


Sarah Ellen was born in 1838 and she was a true Pioneer woman! The sampler is dated 1848 like it was stitched when she was 10 years old- the age may young girls stitched samplers.
The sampler is stitched on 14 count coffee dyed aida cloth.
It was then stained with coffee spots to make it look like it truly is from 1838!
It is framed in a distressed black wood frame with the outside dimensions of the frame being 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"

They are made from blackened wax and grubbied with cinnamon.
Each one is 5 " long x 1 1/2 " wide.
They look great in an olde dough bowl or even on a shelf! If ordering as melters the scent will be Cinnamon Stick.

As you can see she is my new blog header- I wanted something authentic and I think this works perfectly!
I think that this was her home in Michigan as she also had a home in Illinois and this is not it.
I love the chickens in the yard!!
She was 77 years old when this was taken.

Corncob doll


I neede a small container for q tips as my hubby goes through a ton of them! I wanted something prim so I painted a tin can and made a mini corn cob doll and attached her to the front. I wanted to make a wire hanges so she could hang from a peg but could not find my wire!! So I used jute- may have more of a prairie look any way!!

Pioneer Pinkeep Drum W/ Strawberry


This pinkeep drum certainly does look like it was made by a pioneer woman out on the olde prairie! Definitely not a pretty refined pinkeep!
The body of this pinkeep is made from cream wool that has been coffee dyed, the top and bottom are coffee dyed red & tan ticking, the strawberry is a ruby red calico that has also been coffee dyed- the stem is coffee dyed green felt- as with real strawberries the stem is not symmetrical.
The base is filled with sand, the remainder with sawdust- the berry is filled with sand.

I love the way this seed bag turned out! It is made from muslin and has been given a coffee bath and then baked to prim perfection. It has a hand stitched verse that reads " What soever a man soweth, that he shall also reap". It is stitched with three strands of black floss.
The bag is 5 1/2" wide x 5 1/2 " high. It will look great hanging from a peg, a cabinet knob, or in a trencher or old dough bowl filled with rosehips and sticks.

Antique Baby Shoes!!


I put off making these baby shoes for years! because I thought they looked to difficult to do. Then a very dear friend talked me in to making them. I am so glad that she did!

I first made one shoe & turned into a pinkeep.

I like mine darker like the pinkeep but the pair is for my friend and she wanted her's just coffee dyed. I am sure I will be making more of these in the future so stay tuned!!

OLde Brown Shoe Pinkeep

I had so much fun making this pinkeep! The pattern is from Hazelruthe and Ilove it!
The entire pinkeep was made by hand with a mini sandbag in the toe to keep it weighted. I painted and sanded the shoe and then gave it a couple of coffee baths and then it was baked to give it authentic "scruffy" olde shoe look!. The pinkeep in the top- was made from reproduction brown calico.
The pinkeep measures 2" wide x 4" high.

Olde Blue Annie!! For Blue Lovers!!







It has been so long since I made an Annie. It was so overcast again today I needed a change of pace!! I found an old pattern and off I went!
I love blue- if you do too she will be perfect for you!
She is 17" from head to toe. Her face is hand painted and her red wool hair is very sparse and her Olde Blue Dress is wrinkled & coffee dyed as if she has seen years of wear & tear. Olde navy blue ticking was used for her legs with painted and sanded shoes, the dress is made from a blue reproduction fabric.
She is perfect for sitting on a shelf, on top of an olde cupboard, or in a makedo chair that is so popular now. Her adoption fee is 24.00 plus traveling fee.

It is made from coffee dyed and baked muslin- the srawberry fobs are made from reproduction calico and a red checked hoespun.
