I did not see this fox yesterday- but while we were eating supper at 5 pm tonight here she come a nd started eating catfood. I know she must be very hungry but I am not sure how comfortable I am with her coming so close!!

  1. What an awesome sight to see.. You may have to quit feeding the stray cats if you want him to move on. He does look skinny...Lisa

  2. I think you may be correct about feeding the cats. About 4 years ago I saw a fox down by our barns- I thought it was a fluke- but maybe not!

  3. Could you throw scraps AWAY from the area, and maybe get it used to staying away from the house, and then throw less and less and by then she/he will move on? I think it may be nursing babies, it's so danged skinny.

  5. She ? no doubt has a den near by...they like culverts and sometimes live under old sheds and barns, brush piles and such. we had one is Ashton that had her den in a drainage pipe that no longer used as such...one day in the winter, she and her mate came across the snow covered lawn..they were so pretty to see, red coats..also very thin..bob said they come into town when hungry looking for food..not usual for them to go around humans.

  6. Good Morning!
I just stumbled onto your blog while visiting a friend's...and I think it's wonderful! We, too, have been visited by a fox as of late...he is very interested in our hens! In fact, while they were out ranging in the yard...he was checking out the inside of the henhouse! (I don't think he's very foxy, do your? He could have had his pick that day!) Needless to say, we are keeping a close watch on our "ladies".
    Have a blessed day!
